Daily expenses of Russians in October increased by 3.1% compared with September, they returned to the model of intensive shopping visit a larger number of outlets with a smaller average bill, according to the research of holding «ROMIR», which is available to RIA Novosti.

The study is based on data from the Skan-panel of households «romira». It is based on information on the consumption of 40 thousand Russians, 15 thousand households in 220 cities with a population of 10 thousand people or more, which reflects the purchasing behavior of residents of Russian cities.

«General everyday expenses of Russians in October continued to grow after a small increase than in September. So for the second autumn month, Russians spent 3.1% more than the previous month. Thus, the monthly inflation rate 0,4%, calculated by Rosstat, was successfully overcome, and rising costs can be considered truly tangible», — stated in the message.

«However, in the context of the year the index of consumer activity declined by 0.6%, which pales in comparison with the size of the accumulated annual inflation rate of 3.5%,» — adds «ROMIR». The real (cleared from inflation) costs the Russians in the past month were lower than the October values for all previous years of observations.

«If previously the lowest values of the real costs recorded in 2012, now even the minimum of six years ago was higher than the value of last October,» — noted in the study. According to Rosstat, food prices in Russia in October increased by 0.6% compared to September, non-food — by 0.5%. At the same time, according to the «Romero», the size of the average check in October, decreased by 2.7%.

«With the General increase in daily expenditures, this suggests that the Russians are back to the model of intensive shopping. They visit a greater number of retail outlets in search of the most favorable quotations. One time they leave at the checkout less, but in General, the month the savings is imaginary, as it leads to more frequent purchases and, accordingly, higher overall costs,» according to «ROMIR».
