Turkey did not support the countries that decided to impose sanctions against Russia, does not intend to support them in the future, said the Chairman of the Commission on international Affairs of the Parliament of Turkey, Volkan Bozkır.

«Quite honestly and frankly I want to emphasize that Turkey will not side with those countries that have imposed sanctions against Russia and will not do,» said Bozkır during the joint meeting of the committees for international Affairs of the state Duma and Parliament of Turkey.

According to him, Turkish-Russian relations are now on the rise.

«I cite the example of Russian-Turkish relations…, to mention two countries, which fought so much among themselves, was a difficult time for relationships. Our relations are now on the rise. And the friendship of Turkey is a real friendship. There are times when we have our foreign partners to explain why we maintain such a good level of our relations with Russia. But I believe that there is no reason for that,» said Bozkır.

He also noted that between the leaders of Russia and Turkey have developed a trusting dialogue. «Between the presidents of our countries have developed vzaimodoveritelnoe dialogue, and we develop relations between our States in all spheres, including politics and the economy», — said the Turkish parliamentarian.

The head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky, in turn, noted that the country’s recent extremely advanced in the implementation of important infrastructural and economic projects. In addition, the MP stressed that Russia and Turkey have successfully moved to the main challenge facing countries in Syria. «Although the decision is still very far away, we are as ever in the most constructive phase in our bilateral relations», — said Slutsky.
