In the European Union declined to comment about statements by the head of the European Council Donald Tusk on «serious» risk of accidental release of Poland from the EU.
Earlier media reported that Tusk has indicated the existence of a «very serious threat» Polexit. According to him, the leader of the ruling party of Jaroslaw Kaczynski is teetering on the brink and could trigger the country’s exit from EU a simple mistake.
«Alas, we have nothing more to add to this. These statements were made in Poland» — said the Agency interlocutor, answering a request to comment on this statement and explain its context.
Earlier, the EC started a procedure that may lead to deprivation of Warsaw voting rights in the Council of the European Union. Since then, Poland has advanced several deadlines to bring judicial reform, which displeased the EU, in line with European standards. Negotiations between the EC and the authorities of Poland are still without significant progress.
As expected, on Monday, November 12, the foreign Ministers will consider the status of the rule of law in Poland in the framework of the sanctions procedure under article 7 of the EU Treaty and the development of judicial reform in this country.
