In the Lithuanian Seimas was angry because of the growth of import of buckwheat and other cereals from the «hostile» Russia, writes Sputnik Lithuania with reference to the press service of the Parliament.
«Our government, despite the hostile actions of Russia, flatters her and buys not only fertilizer, but also buckwheat with wheat, although we have the ability to bring those crops from Ukraine or other countries,» — said the Deputy Kazys, Starkjavichus.
The politician also urged the agriculture Ministry to take «concrete steps to protect the interests of farmers». According to the MP, the missing buckwheat and other cereals should buy from «friendly States».
According to the Customs service of Lithuania during the ten months the Republic imported 16 763 tonnes of wheat, 15 088 tonnes of which was purchased from Russia.
The Lithuanian conservatives are constantly making initiatives directly or indirectly associated with the elimination of «Russian influence» on the country. In particular, it was proposed legalization of demolition of memorials to Soviet soldiers, a ban on the wearing of St. George ribbons and limitation of work «Yandex.Taxi».
