. The head of the state Committee for the protection of cultural heritage of Crimea Sergey Efimov reported progress in the fight against «black archeologists» after the words of the head of the South-Crimean archaeological expedition Svetlana Adaksina, who called this problem is still relevant.

On Monday, the chief curator of the State Hermitage, head of the South-Crimean archaeological expedition Svetlana Adaksina in an interview with RIA Novosti said that the problem of illegal excavations in the Crimea is still relevant: in her words, «black archeologists» «hosted in the Crimea is quite actively», basically they dig up the burial grounds in the hope of valuable jewelry.

«The problem of «black archeologists» is gradually eroding. The FSB is working actively under control», — told RIA Novosti Efimov. According to him, the Ukrainian times «black archaeology» in the Crimea prospered as encouraged at the management level of the country.

Efimov said that right now the archaeology in the Crimea is developing «at an unprecedented pace» involved large-scale facilities, places to work «black archeologists» on the Peninsula there.

In 2017 the FSB said that by the time of the annexation of Crimea to Russia was illegal regulated market for trade and exchange of exhibits found during illegal excavations. It was noted that «black diggers» EN masse in Crimea were illegal excavations until 2014, often performed the orders of foreign collectors, disrupting and destroying cultural layer. The FSB said that the Agency has the fight with the «black diggers» attention, investigated criminal cases, and physical evidence transferred to the Museum.
