Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev welcomed participants and guests at the opening of the 24-th international industrial exhibition «Metal-Expo 2018», noting the importance of metallurgy, machine building and Metalworking in the modern economy, according to the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

International industrial exhibition «Metal-Expo» is held at VDNKH in Moscow on November 13-16.

«Metal for mankind has always been the symbol of progress, a sign of transition of civilization from the «stone age» on a completely different level of development. This is true in our age, when used in the production of synthetic materials and the latest digital technology. Products of metallurgy, engineering and Metalworking – something without which can not and will not be able to do without exception, all branches of modern economy», — said in greeting.

The head of government noted that a significant part of the exhibition is Russian equipment created by innovative technologies. It is actively used in industrial, housing and road construction, many infrastructure projects depend on economic growth and people’s quality of life.

«Without your product, in particular, made possible the construction of Crimean bridge, the world football championship FIFA 2018,» — said Medvedev.

He wished the participants to have rich discussions and fruitful work.
