The Ministry of environment refused to export abroad 25 belugas from Primorsky Krai, the Ministry reported.

As told previously, «Ecological watch of Sakhalin», a dozen of baby Beluga whales illegally held in so-called «whale jail» in the Middle Bay in the Primorsky Krai. There are animals at a foster home before selling abroad.

«Ministry of Russia informs about the refusal to issue documents for the export of Beluga whales from the Primorye region <…> 25 applications for certificates of CITES received in the Supervisory structure of the Ministry of Russia on the export of 25 specimens of Beluga whales,» — said in the message.

Thus from the accompanying materials indicated that the resolution of the Federal Agency for fishery on the prey of marine animals were given educational and cultural-educational purposes, said the Ministry.

In Vladivostok the environmental Prosecutor’s office began checking the conditions and objectives of content in the Average red Bay, orcas and whales. According to the Supervisory authority, in cages there are 11 of killer whales and dozens of Beluga whales. The result in the Primorsky territory also began checking the legality of the catch of mammals and compliance with the conditions of their captivity.

Earlier, Greenpeace Russia, RIA Novosti reported that preparing for illegal sale in China 13 endangered orcas for the past five years, there were already taken out 15 of these marine mammals. In RPN issuing permits for the export abroad of rare animals, said that studying the problem together with the FSB border service.
