Abe intends to visit Russia in early 2019

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told reporters in Singapore after the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that he intends to visit Russia on a visit in early next year.

«Next year at the summit of «twenty» I’ll be glad to welcome Putin (in Japanese Osaka. – Approx. ed.) but before that, in the beginning of the year I will go on a visit to Russia, and we will hold Japanese-Russian meeting at the highest level», — quotes the words of Abe Agency Kyodo.

A meeting of leaders of Russia and Japan was held Wednesday in Singapore, where he opened a summit of member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Association includes Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines. Also in Singapore on November 14-15 is the XIII East Asia summit. This format involves the participation of representatives of all ASEAN countries as well as Russia, Australia, India, China, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Japan and the USA.
