Senator Andrey Klishas, Alexei Alexandrov and several others in the state Duma introduced a bill prohibiting installation of cages for defendants in the courtroom.

As reported by RIA Novosti Klishas, the bill is aimed at the humanization of the relationship to the defendants, suspects and accused persons in the trial.

«For this purpose the document establishes a ban on the use in courtrooms of any protective cabs, whether it’s a metal cage or an insulating translucent protective cabin. Appropriate changes need to be made in article 9 of the «honour and dignity» of the Criminal procedure code of the Russian Federation», — said the Senator.

The sponsors of the bill, in addition Klishas and Alexandrov, was made by Alexander Bashkin, Lyudmila Bokova and Ahmad Salpagarov.
