Indian space research organization (ISRO) on Wednesday launched a new communication satellite GSAT-29, reported local TV channel NDTV.

According to TV channel, a satellite weighing 3.4 tons into orbit with Indian carrier rocket GSLV Mk-III D2. The rocket was launched from the Baikonur space center of Satish Dhawan at Sriharikota island, Andhra Pradesh.

As the Chairman of ISRO K. Sivan, communication satellites will help provide Internet connectivity to remote regions of North-East India and Jammu and Kashmir.

The TV station reports that this launch was the 67-m launch, launched from a spaceport on the island of Sriharikota, and GSAT-29 became the 33rd created in India satellite communication.
