The winner of the international tournament on wrestling on belts, which starts on Thursday in the capital of Tatarstan, will receive a ticket to Hajj, told RIA Novosti the mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin.

According to a religious leader, a sports forum dedicated to the 200th anniversary since the birth of the outstanding Tatar theologian and educator Shigabutdin Mardzhani and the Spiritual administration of Muslims of Tatarstan (DUM RT) was one of the organizers.

«We’re holding this tournament to promote healthy lifestyle, spiritual, moral and physical development of young people, and for the strengthening of friendship and sports cooperation between the participants representing different countries of the world,» — said the mufti Samigullin.

Their participation in the prestigious tournament confirmed teams from Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

Following the results of competitions the participants who took prize-winning places are awarded with medals, diplomas and valuable gifts. The main prize – a ticket to Hajj (pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia).

For the first time this year the imams of Tatarstan headed by mufti Samigullin took part in testing the implementation of standards for «Ready for labor and defense» (TRP). This event has become one of the biggest athletic initiatives of MRB RT, together with the all-Russian tournament on Ju-jitsu for the Cup named after Mardzhani and the Republican tournament Koresh (traditional wrestling of the Turkic peoples) and arm wrestling on the Cup of MRB RT
