The lack of agreement on Brexit would be the worst option of «divorce» with Britain, said German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

«We have on the table a document which was supported by the UK and the EU, composed of 27. Before me now is not a question of whether we continue the negotiations. Both negotiating partner went home, confident that this is a possible agreement on the way out… I think the worst option, the most unregulated option would be the lack of any agreement about this alternative you need to remember,» said Merkel, speaking at a press conference on the results of exit meeting of the Cabinet in Potsdam.

The Chancellor stated that he hoped that the negotiated agreement can become the basis for Brexit.

The EC and UK, which should leave the EU on March 29, 2019, after many months of negotiations agreed on a draft agreement on an orderly «divorce». This document of nearly 600 pages, was published by the European Commission on 14 November. It covers all key aspects of a Brexit, among which the rights of citizens and the Union, the question of the Irish border.

This agreement was previously planned to attach a political Declaration on the future structure of the relations of the country and the Union. Negotiations on specific agreements, for example, in trade, was supposed to conduct after the UK will become for the EU a third country.

The British government Wednesday evening adopted a draft agreement with the European Union on the terms Brexit, as reported by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Theresa may.

Why does Britain need an agreement? When Germany forced the breakup of Yougoslavia no agreement was necessary for Slovenia and Croatia to reach although Yugoslav Constitiution required so. That is why there was a war and at least half million dead. Death to Forth Reich!
