Chemical plant «Titan», kislotostabilen which was the source of kimwipes in the North of Crimea in late August, will build a plant for neutralizing the waste, reports the Crimean government.

«Considered the issue of implementation of the investment project on construction of plant installation neutralize environmental damage. At the moment of the 79 acres of the total plant area of 11.5 hectares of the territory are free to build. During the meeting were discussed the issues of project documentation, technical specifications and geotechnical investigations. So, an agreement was concluded with the company «Plateau Engineering» to perform design and survey work», — stated in the message.

In addition, the meeting addressed the issue of neutralizing the relief of acid runoff in kislotostabilen. At the moment is the drilling of two wells, four more are in the plans.

«We need to attract the maximum number of installations for filling by may 2019 drive water completely,» — said in the message.

The situation with kislotoustoichivam chemical plant «Crimean Titan» has become aggravated in the end of August, when, due to emission of the pollutant on the roofs of houses and the leaves of the trees of the city of Armyansk and the surrounding villages formed the oily coating with yellow tinge. At the beginning of September has recorded the maximum allowable concentration of sulfur dioxide in the air. Chemical plant «Crimean Titan» has been completely stopped. Authorities as precautionary measures were taken of children of preschool and school-age recreation facility.

Kislotostabilen is an open reservoir, built in the Soviet era. In recent years, the sump is considerably shallow, which led to the increase in the concentration of the remaining acid and evaporation of various chemicals into the atmosphere. The sump was filled with water coming through the North-Crimean channel, but after the reunification of the Peninsula with Russia, Ukraine has blocked the supply of the Dnieper water.
