The Committee of the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on human rights violations in Crimea, once again showed their political blindness, said the Vice-Premier of the Crimean government Dmitry Polonsky.

The third Committee of the UN General Assembly, responsible for social, humanitarian and cultural questions previously adopted a resolution on human rights violations in the Crimea. This year the number of countries voted for, was 67, against 26, abstentions became more — 82. In 2016 and 2017 for the resolution voted 70 States, against 26, abstain 77 and 76 countries, respectively. Among those who supported the initiative traditionally, most European countries and the USA.

«A tradition for nearly 70 States’ political blindness does not surprise anyone. While this disease does not allow to see their amazing extent of human rights violations in Ukraine, leading for that year, the war against its own people on the territory of Donbass, but somehow, miraculously forming the Western politicians the illusion of non-existent human rights abuses in Crimea», — told RIA Novosti Polonsky.

However, according to him, the disease is quite understandable: it is the fear and hatred that you experience the so-called Western democracies is the growth in the power and influence of Russia in the world.

«I am glad only that the number of abstentions from voting States and those who voted against it, much more than the number who supported the resolution,» added Polonsky.
