Moscow will continue its consistent policy of depoliticizing trade and investment ties in the dialogue with Western countries, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

«In dialogue with the West we will continue its consistent policy of depoliticizing trade and investment ties. It concerns our relations with Europe and, in particular, with the United States. Moreover, many in the EU are aware of the counterproductive confrontational course against Russia and do not want to suffer billions of dollars in losses as a result of the untwisted spiral of sanctions», — said Lavrov, speaking at a meeting of the Business Council under the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Relations between Russia and the West deteriorated in connection with the situation in Ukraine and around the Crimea. The West is accusing Russia of meddling, have imposed sanctions, Moscow responded, took a course on import substitution and has repeatedly said that talking with her in language of sanctions counterproductive. Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine and the subject of the Minsk agreements on the settlement. Lately in the EU clearly there are opinions on necessity of cancellation of sanctions against Russia.
