The EU and Russia agreed to maintain close contact on the situation in the Azov sea, reported Friday RIA Novosti the representative of the European external action service, commenting on the results of last Thursday’s Brussels meeting, Secretary-General of the service Helga Schmid and Deputy foreign Minister Grigory Karasin.

According to him, the meeting with the European side had «expressed concern at the deterioration in security in the Azov sea». «The parties have agreed to remain in close contact on the developments on the sea of Azov», — said the source.

The meeting also discussed the developments in the framework of the «5+2» Transnistria, held in the breakaway DNI and LC November 11 election Schmid called, how many times did representatives of the EU to it, illegal.
