«I would like to discuss with my American partners, including the sanctions policy of the USA: although Europe and the U.S. are close in terms of goals against Iran and Russia, our position on what remedies are proper, now differ: in any case, I’m critical of the fact that the US will impose sanctions against German companies, if they pursue illegal trade with Iran, relying on the contract, which was developed together with the Americans,» said Bayer, it quotes the website of the German foreign Ministry.

«Despite the fact that I pretty much share the concern of the United States against Russia, German businesses should not be punished for what they import gas to Germany and observe our laws. I want to convey to our international partners: Germany is a country you can rely on,» added the Commissioner of the German government.
