The head of the Synodal Department for relations between the ROC society and the media Vladimir Legoyda welcomed the decision of the Council of the Polish Orthodox Church to forbid its clergy to enter into liturgical and prayerful communion with the representatives of the non-canonical organizations in Ukraine, said Friday the Synodal Department.

The Polish Orthodox Church forbade its priests to come into contact with the priests of the unrecognized Kiev Patriarchate, said in a statement on the results of the Council of bishops released on Friday. The statement noted that «persons deprived of their ordination as Bishop and the priesthood, can’t be leaders for peace in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church», but «their actions provoke even more chaos and disorder.»

«The Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church and society and the media Vladimir Legoyda welcomed the decision of the Council of the Polish Orthodox Church», — is spoken in the message.

«The decision of Constantinople to enter into communion with the schismatics of the «Kiev Patriarchate and Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church» does not find understanding and support in the Orthodox world. The Council of bishops of the Polish Orthodox Church, which was held yesterday under the chairmanship of his Beatitude Metropolitan of Warsaw and all Poland Savva, following consideration of documents received from the Patriarchate of Constantinople, refused to recognize Ukrainian separatist structures, as well as stated, «will not join in communion with the new Church, which Constantinople will create in Ukraine,» — said Legoyda, whose words are in the press release.

The representative of the Russian Orthodox Church has reminded that earlier similar decision was taken by the Council of bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, who called the decision of Constantinople unfounded. The Serbian Church also stated that it did not recognize the leaders of the Ukrainian schismatic structures as canonical bishops and clergy and is not going to deal with them the liturgical and canonical communion.

«A possible way out of this situation can be pan-Orthodox discussion of the Ukrainian question, as called for by the Serbian and Polish Orthodox Church», — said Legoyda.

Because of the decision of Constantinople to begin providing non-canonical autocephaly churches in Ukraine, which the Russian Orthodox Church is called the schism, the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on 15 October announced the severance of communication with the Patriarchate of Constantinople on the canonical territory of the ROC, including Ukraine and Belarus.

The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church has called canonically void, and saw politics in the abolition of Constantinople by the act of 1686 on the transfer of the Kyiv Metropolitanate to the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate. Metropolitan Hilarion said that Constantinople lost its right to be called the coordinating centre of Orthodoxy. In the Russian Orthodox Church hope that Constantinople will change the decision to give the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church, and before that he will be in schism.

The authorities in Kiev and non-canonical Church structure in Ukraine hope till the end of the year to receive the Tomos of autocephaly from Constantinople, but Tomos can get only the Primate of the «United» Church, it needs to select on the «unification Council» of the Orthodox churches in Ukraine. This canonical UOC said that is not going to participate in this event. The Synod of the canonical Ukrainian Church Cathedral and its bishops have declared the illegality of the interference of Constantinople in the internal Affairs of another local Church, but also that attempts to solve the Ukrainian Church question with the participation of public authorities and schismatics is invalid.
