«Yandex» in accordance with the anti-piracy Memorandum started from November 15 to exclude from search results links to pirated resources, said in a statement.

Roskomnadzor, the search engines Yandex, Mail.Ru Group and Rambler, as well as large rights holders — in particular, First channel, VGTRK, «STS Media», «Gazprom-media holding» and «national Media Group» — 1 November, signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the fight against pirated content online.

«Following the agreement, from November 15, «Yandex» has started to exclude from search results links to pages with controversial content that is added to a special register according to the statements of rights holders. Links disappear from the SERPs within six hours after going into the registry», — stated in the message «Yandex».

The company expects that the joint actions of the participants of the Memorandum will facilitate the legal distribution of audiovisual content on the Internet, and encourages other industry players to support this initiative. «Yandex» stands for the honest Internet.
