The crime rate in Moscow, associated with the migrants, has been cut in half thanks to their registration and issuance of patents, said the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.

«This is the work with migrant workers, which are now 70 percent register, get a patent, leave fingerprints, that is, we see and know. And this has led to significant half, reduction in crime in the area of migration», — said Sobyanin in an interview with TV channel «Russia-1».

He explained that the video surveillance system in Moscow covered courtyards, entrances, transport hubs, shopping malls and streets, which increases the efficiency of police work.
