In the «United Russia» categorically oppose the attempts of some deputies to legalize trophy hunting animals from the red book, the press service of «United Russia» with reference to the Secretary of the General Council «United Russia» Andrei Turchak.

Previously, the newspaper «Kommersant» reported that state Duma Deputy Vladislav Reznik, a member of the «club of mountain hunters», sent to the Deputy Minister of nature Ivan Valentik letter that proposes to assess the possibility of introducing in Russia «special programs» that allow trophy hunting for endangered species so that hunters in the future, funded the protection of these species.

«The proposal Reznik, who is a member of the «Club of mountain hunters» is not that other, as attempt to legitimize their own interest «VIP-hunting». …We believe that the proposals on the resolution of shooting endangered animals is unacceptable and impossible», – the press service quoted Turchak.

He spoke strongly against the organization of any kind of «VIP-hunting» under the guise of animal protection.

«If hunters are willing to help protect the animals from the red book, it does not give them the right to lobby for the legalization of murder. I am convinced that the Ministry of natural resources and environment and personally the head of Department Dmitry Kobylkin will not allow such an initiative,» said Turchak.

He reminded colleagues that the priority of their work should be the protection of the rights of citizens of the region from which they were elected to Parliament.
