Russia stands for the preservation of the framework and fundamental principles of the WTO, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

«You asked whose side our government. We are on their side, of course, to the national interests of the Russian Federation, the economy of our country, and ultimately the citizens of our country. But there are positions that are closer to us… of Course, we are closer to that position which is to not to abandon the benefits of the WTO, to keep the scope of this organization, to try to make it more current, to maintain the basic principles of operation of the institutions of the WTO, to reform the process of arbitration», — Medvedev told reporters after participating in the APEC summit.

As he said, a position shared by the majority of States, but not all, for example, the United States believes that nothing needs to be changed. «I think that this position is not very far-sighted»,- said Medvedev.
