Russia and Vietnam are constantly improving the cooperation in trade-economic sphere and aims at increasing the efficiency of use of existing mechanisms, including the agreement on free trade zone, told reporters the first Deputy head of RF government staff Sergey Prikhodko.

«Russia and Vietnam pay special attention to the improvement and optimization of interaction in trade-economic sphere, including through more effective use of existing cooperation mechanisms, including FTAs (free trade agreement — ed.) between EEC and Vietnam», — said Prikhodko on the eve of the official visit of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Vietnam.

According to him, the relevant topics are regularly discussed in the framework of the bilateral intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation and its working bodies.

In the structure of the IASC has a working group on interbank cooperation, since 2006, operates a joint Vietnam-Russia Bank (VRB) with its head office in Hanoi and branch network across the country, continued Prikhodko. «Questions of usage in mutual settlements in national currencies are the focus of attention of the relevant institutions and organizations,» he added.
