The work of one of the units of the Moscow oil refinery (owned by «Gazprom oil»), where on Saturday there was a fire that shut down at least until the end of November, said the Ministry of energy.

Refinery November 17 reported that at 7.20 GMT the fire occurred one of the sections of the catalytic cracking plant. The installation job was a staff stopped the automated system of industrial safety. Fire brigades MOR and MOE promptly arrived at the scene. At 11.00 a.m. the fire was completely extinguished. There were no injuries. The causes of the fire are being investigated. MOR noted that, according to the MOE, the concentration of pollutants in the air is not fixed. The company also indicated that other facilities were not damaged, and the plant is operating normally.

«At the moment, assessment of fire damage, the installation of catalytic cracking at the Moscow oil refinery continues. Preliminary assessment of impacts indicates that the stop will last at least until the end of November, which will lead to a reduction in the production of gasoline. Accurate timing of idle and the volume drop-down resource is now also being examined, but evaluation of multiple recovery scenarios indicates no risk of a shortage of gasoline in the Central region», — stated in the message.

According to the Ministry, oil refining on NPZ Russia in November and December is at a high level, excess demand in December is expected to start production of gasoline at the refinery TANECO that will generate additional surplus resource automotive gasoline and diesel fuel. In order to prevent the reduction of the supply of gasoline to the domestic market in the Central region by the company «Gazprom Neft» resource will be the Yaroslavl refinery and Omsk refinery in case of necessity.

Also at the market will receive an additional resource of gasoline from refineries of other companies to avoid local scarcity of the resource.

«Even with the temporary suspension of the operation of the catalytic cracking refinery is expected to increase in inventory of motor fuel by the end of 2018 at a level higher than the level of reserves end of 2017», — informs the Ministry of energy.
