Russia and Iraq have agreed to coordinate at a high level in the field of oil and gas, reported the press service of the Minister of Finance of Iraq, placed at the disposal of RIA Novosti. In addition, the Ministry of Finance of Iraq is ready to help Russian companies in the event of difficulties at work in this country, said in a statement.

According to the document, on Wednesday, the Minister of Finance Fuad Hussein met with Deputy foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov in his office in Baghdad and the delegation accompanying him.

«The sides agreed to coordinate at a high level between Baghdad and Moscow in the oil and gas sector and in this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance noted that the government program involves the transition (Iraq — ed.) from a gas importer to self-sufficiency and then export, and thanked the Russian companies working in Iraq for their role and efforts, noting the readiness to overcome difficulties, if any,» — said in a statement.

The press service of the Prime Minister of Iraq Adel Abdel Mahdi said on Tuesday that the Prime Minister has taken Bogdanov and his accompanying delegation in Baghdad. The press service of the President of Iraq, Barham Saleh also said that he has taken Bogdanov. The Iraqi foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday that the head of the Iraqi foreign Ministry Mohammad Ali al-Hakim met with the Deputy foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov in the building Department in Baghdad.
