Russia is concerned about the dangerous tendencies to the attempts to distort the events of the great Patriotic war, Moscow and Minsk must continue efforts to counter these destructive plans, said the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Lavrov on November 20-21 on a working visit in Minsk.

«We attach great importance to preserving the memory of our common history, so we can not disturb the dangerous tendencies associated with the distortion of the events of the great Patriotic and the Second world war. Stop trying to justify, and even glorify Nazis and their accomplices, to reconsider the decision of the Nuremberg Tribunal,» — said the Minister at a joint meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of foreign Affairs and the Collegium of the foreign Ministry of Belarus.

According to him, it is worrying that in parallel with the falsification of history «is gaining momentum Russophobia, which in some European countries is being built almost to the rank of official ideology».

«In these circumstances, our common goal is to continue a concerted effort to counteract these destructive ideas, using all available political and legal tools. Demand an integrated approach, combining capacity of diplomats, parliamentarians, academia, the General public», — said Lavrov.
