Investment by the state in the project «Yamal LNG» for liquefied natural gas amounted to 100 billion rubles — only 5% of the total investment, said the Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YANAO) Dmitry Artyukhov.

He spoke at the plenary meeting of the Federal Arctic forum «the Arctic Days in Moscow», which takes place from 21 to 25 November in the capital and has over forty business and cultural events of the Arctic theme. In opening ceremony took part the Minister of natural resources and ecology of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kobylkin, Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov, Governor of the Nenets Autonomous area Alexander Tsybulsky, President of the Association of KMN of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation Grigory Ledkov and Vice-President of the world tourism organization to the UN UNWTO Natalia Andronova.

«The state has fulfilled the role that was supposed to do — associated with the provision of basic infrastructure: navigable channel, lacosamide structure. In fact, the scale of the whole project this amounted to 5% of the investment. The project we evaluate is almost 2 trillion rubles, of which public investment was of the order of 100 billion rubles», — said Artyukhov.

According to the head of Yamal, is the «best example» an industry-based project with international participation.

Yamal LNG is the best example of international integration under the auspices of the Russian company, the French, along with China made a unique project. Today the brand «Yamal» is known all over the world,» Artyukhov said in an interview with reporters.

«Yamal LNG» implements the project of construction of a plant for the liquefaction of natural gas on the basis of the South Tambeyskoye field. Shareholders — NOVATEK (50.1 per cent), Total (20%), CNPC (20%) and silk road Fund (9,9%). The project will include three production line with capacity of 5.5 million tons each, and one almost 1 million. The launch of the first phase of the plant took place in December 2017, the second in early August, and the third is expected in December.
