Russia is not the United States received official notification of withdrawal from the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty), told reporters Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

«We will not be able to respond to significant changes in the military-political situation, if after the announcement of the intention to withdraw from the INF Treaty would be followed by concrete tangible steps. «Professionals who are engaged in military planning that analyze the military-technical consequences of certain steps will make it much more professionally, and at an appropriate time. Now this moment has come. We have not even received official notification from the US to withdraw from the Treaty», — said the Deputy head of the foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the President of the United States Donald trump announced that Washington would withdraw from the Treaty on intermediate-range and shorter-range. According to him, America will increase its nuclear capability as long as the others «comes to her senses», then Washington will be ready to stop this process and proceed to arms reduction. He explained that this message is addressed primarily to China and Russia. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow wants to get more detailed explanations from the United States, and added that the scrapping of the provisions of the INF Treaty would force Russia to take measures to ensure security. The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that any action in this field will meet.
