National forum for the prevention and treatment of HIV will be held on Monday in Moscow in the eve of the world day of fight against AIDS, will open the forum, the Minister of health of Russia Veronika Skvortsova.

«On the eve of the world day of fight against AIDS 26 and 27 November 2018 in Moscow will be held the IV all-Russian Forum of specialists in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Open the forum, the Minister of health of the Russian Federation Veronika Skvortsova,» — said the press service of the Ministry of health.

For discussion of relevant topics of HIV prevention and treatment and to develop tactics for the next few years will gather scientists and experts from all regions of Russia, including the leaders of the local health authorities as well as representatives of regional AIDS centers, NGOs and expert community of various countries.

The forum will be held panel session «international experience of implementing national strategies for the prevention of HIV infection», which will discuss the successful experience and methodology of prevention and response to HIV in different countries.

A separate topic of the forum will be prevention of HIV in high-risk groups with the involvement of non-profit organizations. The round table will discuss the organization of preventive programmes through non-profit organizations in partnership with state agencies of health and social protection.

The forum will also summarize the all-Russia shares the Ministry of health for free anonymous rapid testing for HIV «HIV Test: the Expedition». The forum will be presented the flags of the regions that participated in this action.

In addition, there will be a ceremony of rewarding of winners of competition «the Best AIDS center» organized by the Ministry of health of Russia from 2016 to identify best practices in the field of HIV prevention and treatment.

Earlier Skvortsova said that Russia is a world leader in the number of people screened for HIV in 2017, passed the testing in 23% of the population. And the coverage of antiretroviral therapy for people with HIV in Russia in 2019 should reach at least 75% (by the end of 2017 — beginning of 2018, this figure is 50%).
