More than 30 thousand citizens ‘ appeals received in the office of the Commissioner for human rights in Russia over the past ten months 2018, said Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova.

«For ten months we have received almost 32 thousands of petitions on various issues of observance and protection of the rights of citizens. This is slightly less than last year, number of cases, but increased the number of collective complaints. Therefore, the number of citizens in need of our assistance remains high,» — said Moskalkova at the meeting of the expert Council under Commissioner for human rights in Russia on Monday.

The Ombudsman said that remains a significant number of appeals for implementation of social and economic rights — they constitute almost half of the total number of statements. According to Moskalkova, housing rights received 4.5 thousand cases, protection of family, motherhood and childhood — 1.5 thousand, labor rights — one thousand.

«Judging from the cases continues to be an acute problem of housing provision for certain categories, including children-orphans and children left without parental care,» she said.
