The Kremlin will rely on the decision of the constitutional court to assess the Treaty to establish the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia, the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

The constitutional court of Russia on Tuesday considering the constitutionality of the agreement on the establishment of the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya, as well as the law, approved this agreement.

«The fact that this issue is currently examined by the constitutional court, therefore, now to give some kind of assessment is absolutely impossible and would be wrong. Let’s wait for the outcome of the work,» — said Peskov, asked to evaluate the meeting in Ingushetia and to clarify, whether in the Kremlin for this situation.

The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov on 26 September signed an agreement on the border between the two regions, which provides for an equivalent exchange of territories. The parliaments of Chechnya and Ingushetia approved this agreement. Kadyrov stated that it considers closed the issue about the border with Ingushetia: «the law was passed, the agreement was signed». In this case the constitutional court of Ingushetia said that the agreement can be approved only by a referendum.
