Permission for laying of extension of the gas pipeline «Turkish stream» on the territory of Serbia has been requested, and the receipt will be technically the same for the construction of a «everything is ready,» said General Director of «Srbijagas» Dusan bajatovic, the TV channel PRVA TV.

Bajatovic said that the resolution requested from the national energy Agency, in addition, currently the project is on the consideration of the Energy community of South East Europe (see), which must formulate its position within 60 days.

In this regard, he stressed that there are important legal distinction of «Turkish stream» from the failed project «South stream». «South stream» was implemented on the basis of international agreements, and all what is now happening in the Serbian energy law which abides by all the rules of the Third energy package — the documents so prepared that the decision may not be negative», said Bajatovic.

«Everything is ready for the construction of this pipeline,» he concluded, adding also that on 15 December, the planned negotiations with Bulgaria, where the pipeline will come, volumes of deliveries.

Foreign Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic said yesterday that his country looked forward to the project «Turkish stream.» According to him, this would ensure the stability of gas supplies and would allow Serbia to become a transit country for gas supplies.

The project «Turkish stream» involves construction of a pipeline, consisting of two lines with capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters each. The first line is designed to supply gas to Turkish consumers, the other for the gas supply countries in southern and South-Eastern Europe. The pipeline is planned before the end of 2019.
