Early elections in Israel can not be avoided, despite the fact that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was able to prevent the collapse of the ruling coalition and the dissolution of the Knesset, called for the former defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman, elections can be held no later than may of next year, said RIA Novosti prominent political analyst David Adelman.

Last week the leader of the party «Israel Our home» Lieberman expressed disagreement with the cessation of hostilities and the easing of economic sanctions against the Palestinian factions in the Gaza strip and left the post of defense Minister, which provoked a coalition crisis: Lieberman resignation and withdrawal from the coalition of his party «Our house Israel» Netanyahu is left with the minimum parliamentary majority of 61 of the 120 seats, with the main allies also called for early convening of the elections.

«Netanyahu should postpone the elections for at least six months — that is when, according to his calculations, will be forgotten, because of what Lieberman pulled out of the government and will cease the indignation of the South of the country that suffered the greatest losses as a result of rocket attacks. If the Prime Minister will be able to gather enough strength to get to his party’s greatest electoral majority, it would not pull before the expiration of the current term of the Knesset in November 2019, and will attempt to hold early elections in may next year», — the expert believes.

After the recent political crisis, Israel has not overcome the political instability, says Adelman. «After the massive attacks from Gaza and the subsequent resignation of defense Minister Lieberman, who went along with his party «Our home Israel» in opposition, the society came a lull. But the crisis is not saved from political instability in the country», — said the Agency interlocutor.

«The capacity of the ruling coalition today seems dubious: 61 votes coalition against 59 votes of the opposition — this is a very shaky majority. The absence of one or two members of the coalition can easily change the balance of power and the voting results», — says the analyst.

According to him, the coalition is trying to pass laws for which there is no unity even within the coalition factions. «This failed attempt can be considered a act of loyalty in the culture, which initially caused a lot of objections. It is talking about what state funding will be able to get only those projects that will be loyal from the point of view of the Ministry of culture. Two members of the coalition said that the bill will not vote. Hope that it will support someone from the opposition even less. In the end, the consideration of the bill postponed indefinitely,» said Adelman.

The same is futile, according to Adelman, looks initiated by the coalition of the so-called law «Gideon Saar», according to which the head of the largest faction in Parliament should automatically receive the post of Prime Minister. «It is possible with high probability to say that such a proposal will be defeated by the opposition. There are a number of legislative initiatives of the coalition, which also receives a majority. Consequently, the next parliamentary crisis is imminent, which, most likely, will be followed by the dissolution of the Knesset,» — says the analyst.

Difficult situation, according to Adelman, exists in the government. «Currently Netanyahu, in addition to the Premiership, headed by four Ministerial posts – foreign Minister, health and more recently defense Minister and Minister of aliyah and integration – is left along with Lieberman, the government of the Sofa Landwehr. This, to put it mildly, a difficult situation in the Cabinet raises many questions, especially when it comes to the narrow military-political bloc of the government, where one person is forced to solve a range of problems,» says the analyst.

Returning to the subject of early elections, the interlocutor RIA Novosti noted that the balance of power after six months in Israel, little will change. Although at the same time made the assumption that the political field may be a new player.

«Perhaps by this time you will see another force called the party of generals headed by the former chief of General staff benny Ganz. Now, according to some polls, they can get up to 20 mandates. Of the 120 seats in the Knesset – it seems impressive. It is noteworthy that the figure of such a specialist on security issues, like Ganz, is much more credible than the current policy. When this party retired military officers publicly declare itself, is unclear. In any case, many are waiting for the appearance of an additional player in the political arena,» concluded Adelman.
