The current Georgian leader Giorgi Margvelashvili voted in the second round of the presidential elections, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

The citizens of Georgia on Wednesday in the second round of elections to elect a new President for a term of six years. This last election by direct vote, in the future, the President will appoint 300 delegates.

Margvelashvili cast his vote at a polling station in 47-th school of the Georgian capital. Like a month ago when they passed the first round, the journalists began to gather in the area more than an hour before the arrival of the President. The arrival of Margvelashvili at the site and around it gathered several dozen representatives of the media.

«I expect that the will of the Georgian people will be reflected in that electoral process,» he told reporters after the vote.

Voting in the election of the President of Georgia began at 08.00 local time (07.00 GMT). Closed polling stations at 20.00 (19.00 GMT). According to the CEC, the turnout in the second round of elections of the President of Georgia as at 10.00 a.m. (09.00 GMT) made up 7.26%.

Earlier, his voice on one of the sites gave the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze.

In the second round were independent candidate Salome Zurabishvili, who has the support of the ruling party «Georgian dream», and Grigol Vashadze, opposition from the Association «Strength in Unity», which includes «United national movement» ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili. They scored almost the same number of votes in the first round, held on 28 October.
