Berlin took note of the criticism from Kiev to the lack of an active stance on the incident in the Kerch Strait, the Ukrainian warships and their crews were detained for violation of border of the Russian Federation, the situation does not change anything in respect of the pipeline «Nord stream-2», said at a briefing the official representative of the government of Germany Steffen Seibert.

«The German government, of course, accepted this criticism, but… it doesn’t change anything fundamental view of this project as economic,» said Seibert.

«The»Nord stream-2″ is primarily an economic project, we always kept saying that he has a political component, namely the question of the role of the Ukrainian transit of Russian gas after 2019. We have always emphasized that the issue needs clarity,» he added.

On Sunday, three ships of naval forces of Ukraine «Berdyansk», «Nikopol» and «Yana Kapu» — violated the state border of Russia, included in the temporarily closed waters of the territorial sea of the Russian Federation and moved from the Black sea to Kerch Strait. They maneuvered in a dangerous manner, did not obey the lawful demands of the Russian authorities and was arrested.
