«Yandex.Taxi» Dec enters throughout Russia automatic monitoring speed of machines during their work, says the company.

As explained in «Yandex.Taxi», developed the technology using GPS to track road track driver, and calculates the speed. The actual speed is checked against the allowed on a particular stretch of road. If the actual speed regularly exceeds the allowed 20 km/h or more, the system warns the driver using the taximeter, said the company. After several warnings, the algorithm restricts access to orders – at first temporarily, and in the case of willful violations permanently, the report says.

«However, as the results of technology testing, 92% of drivers who frequently break the speed, stopped doing it after two notifications in the taximeter, and 7% after the temporary restriction of access orders. 1% of the violators have been locked in the service», — stated in «Yandex.Taxi».

In the future, the company plans to introduce technology that will allow us to determine not only the threat of excessive speed, but also emergency or uncomfortable for passengers driving – for example, a tendency to sharp braking or the set speed, sharp turns and transitions. «All of these technologies will become available not only in Russia but also in other countries where the service works», — concluded in the company.
