Most residents of Moscow, according to the survey, are committed to cooperation with people of other nationalities in the capital: about 75% of Muscovites estimated interethnic relations as stable and calm, said the head of the Department of national policy and interregional relations Vitaly Suchkov.

«Regularly conducted sociological research show that in recent years there has been a steady positive dynamics in the estimation of the Muscovites of government activities in the field of national and inter-confessional relations. Steadily the majority of Muscovites are focused on national reconciliation and cooperation,» said Knots at the conference «Unity in diversity: the formation of civic and interethnic harmony».

«According to the study, about 75% of citizens estimate interethnic relations as calm and stable. It is a good indicator,» he said.

As told the head of Department, for today in the capital are representatives of 160 Nations, and has 19 regional cultural autonomies and local 60, the Council for nationalities under the government of Moscow, which included representatives of more than 80 nationalities.
