Belarusian memorial chapel in London was recognized as the best religious building on the planet at the world architecture festival in Amsterdam, according to Sputnik of Belarus.

Architects from around the world included in the jury of the architectural «Oscar», given to the authors of the project — architectural Bureau Spheron Architects is winning the nomination, which was represented by seven religious buildings from Turkey, Iran, Australia, Thailand, India, Singapore and Portugal.

In addition to the main prize of the Belarusian chapel of London participates in the category «Best use of wood». Besides, now she can claim the title of «world building of the year» – results of voting will be known on November 30.

The Uniate chapel of the Belarusian Catholic mission built by Chinese architect Zzvi With in 2016 in North London in memory of the victims of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This is the first fully-wooden building in the British capital, built since the Great fire of 1666, and the only wooden cult structure where there are services. The cost of construction amounted to 364 thousand pounds (465 thousand dollars).
