The national Committee for transportation safety (national counter-terrorism Committee) of Indonesia released a statement in which it announced incorrect conclusions local and foreign media in the coverage of the preliminary report of the Commission on investigation of accident of the plane of the budget airline Lion Air crashed into the sea off the coast of West Java on October 29, said on Friday the online version of the newspaper Jakarta Post.

The statement said that problems with the sensor airspeed was resolved during a stop in Jakarta before the last flight of the liner, and that the plane was officially declared fit for flight, as flight engineer has signed the entry in the maintenance log of the aircraft about repairs and positive results of post-repair testing equipment, the newspaper reports.

«If problems with the sensor again arose during the flight, then the aircraft would be considered unfit to fly,» — said in a statement.

Published on Wednesday the preliminary report did not call the immediate causes of the disaster, but in this investigation the Commission recommended the airline to «improve the culture of safety and improve the system documenting the maintenance and repair of aircraft,» reported on Wednesday, the Singapore TV station Channel News Asia.

The report drew attention to the fact that for several days before the disaster, the repair service of the airline was not able to solve the problem of disturbances in the sensor airspeed of the aircraft, and, nevertheless, after each symptom, the ship was back in operation, and he continued to fly.

In the Commission’s opinion, abnormal working of the sensor was fed to a computer system of the aircraft about the signal drop in airspeed, after which the automation lowered the nose of the aircraft, starting the maneuver necessary to raise the air speed in order to avoid «stalling» of the liner into a tailspin. The real air speed of the aircraft remained calculated, the report said. The Commission concluded that for 13 minutes of flight pilots more than 20 times had to manually adjust the angle of attack of the aircraft, raising the nose to normal position.
