None of the member countries of the European Union has decided not to register a legal person on the basis of which will create a special financial mechanism to bypass US sanctions against Iran, reported RIA Novosti diplomatic source in Brussels.

In September, the UK, Germany, France, China, Russia and Iran on the results of the Ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations in a joint statement announced that the EU will create a financial mechanism to support transactions with Iran after the imposition of US sanctions. The head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini in mid-November stated that the work on creation of the mechanism continues progressing positively, but the exact date is not called.

«Participation in the project is voluntary and, as far as I know, no one has yet taken the lead on registration. It remains an open question with the financial support,» — said the Agency interlocutor.

Deputy foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araqchi said earlier that Iran intends to give the EU more time to create a financial mechanism to bypass the US sanctions.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said that the transaction created through EU financial mechanism will also be a goal of US sanctions.
