About 7-8 thousand people, according to preliminary data, took part in mass protest actions in the cities and towns of the Arkhangelsk region against the creation of new landfills, have informed RIA of news in regional administration.

«According to preliminary data, in the mass protest actions in the Arkhangelsk region took part 7-8 thousand people», — said the Agency interlocutor. The inhabitants of the region were required not to use the territory of the region for processing waste, in particular Arkhangelsk residents opposed the construction of the landfill in Cheese.

In Arkhangelsk a rally was held in the Park named after Lomonosov at the Solovetsky stone installed in memory of the victims of political repression. According to local authorities, the rally came about a thousand people.

Earlier it was reported that the authorities of Moscow and the Arkhangelsk region plans to create an innovative ekotekhnopark «Sees» for the removal and disposal of solid municipal waste in Moscow.
