Chukotka, which took second place in the ranking of wages in the Russian regions in 2018 increased average wages in real terms by 4.9% to 96,6 thousand rubles, a significant proportion of the growth was in the mining industry, reported RIA Novosti the representative of the County Department of Finance, Economics and property relations.

According to the survey of earnings in the Russian regions in 2018, the highest salaries in the Russian Federation — residents of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous district, Chukotka and Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the lowest – in the national republics such as Daghestan and Karachay-Cherkessia, and also in a number of subjects of the Central Federal district.

According to the study, RIA Novosti, 26% of workers in Chukotka get more than 100 thousand rubles per month.

«Average monthly nominal accrued salary of an employee in the Chukotka region by the end of 2017 amounted to 91 995 rubles, an increase compared to 2016 6.2% in nominal terms and by 2.8% in real terms. In January-September 2018 the average salary in the district was 96 614 rubles, the growth compared to the same period last year and by 8% in nominal terms and by 4.9% in real,» — said the source.

Chukotka in recent years is one of the leading positions in the ranking of the salaries of the regions. According to the representative of the Department, the growth in wages affects the economy, first and foremost, high-performance industries. A significant proportion ensures mining industry.

«Today, all given the «may» presidential decree targets in the district are fully implemented,» — said the source.

From the beginning of 2017 in Chukotka on average by 10% raised the salaries of social workers, 5% — teachers, doctors – an average of 24-25%, paramedical personnel — 10-12%, nurses – on average 30%, employees of institutions of culture, art and cinematography – an average of 15%.

«From January 1, 2018, the salaries of employees of the entire public sector of the County, except for state and municipal employees, has indexed an average of 10%, and also increased the remuneration of certain categories of workers identified by the «may» decrees,» — said the source.
