One of the largest airlines of India — Jet Airways — cancelled 14 planned for Sunday and Monday flights after the refusal of many pilots to come to work «due to bad health», reports channel NDTV, citing informed sources.

According to sources, the pilots told the leadership of the «sudden illness» after the company once again refused to pay their salary arrears for the past few months. The last time the pilots received a salary in September, and then it was paid only partially, said NDTV.

«Because of the complaints of pilots on the ill health of the airline canceled 14 of the planned flights. In fact, employees are protesting against unpaid wages and the unwillingness of the National Association of civil aviation workers (National Aviator’s Guild, NAG) to solve this problem with their leadership,» — said the source channel.

The carrier, in turn, apologized to customers whose flights have been canceled, and confirmed the willingness to meet financial obligations to its employees in full.

«The company continues to fully support and cooperate with all its employees, including pilots and technical officials Guide… Jet Airways is successfully working on resolution of disputes with his subordinates,» — said in a statement released by the company.
