. NATO hopes for constructive role of Russia and Iran in the Afghan peace settlement, said on Tuesday NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Thursday and Friday at the headquarters of NATO in Brussels to hold talks with the foreign Ministers of the countries-allies. The main topics on the agenda is the situation around the INF Treaty and the situation in the Kerch Strait, as well as Afghanistan.

«We help in training of Afghan security forces to send a clear signal to the Taliban that they will never win on the battlefield and that we need to sit at the negotiating table. We also hope that all countries in the region, including Russia and Iran, will support led by the Afghan peace process and will play a constructive role,» he told reporters before the talks.

«We believe in political settlement and the peace process. And it is not the task of NATO to establish specific «red lines» (for talks), it is the task of those who sits at the negotiating table,» he added.

In Moscow on November 9 in a closed format was the meeting on Afghanistan. For the first time in an international meeting of this level was attended by the delegation of the political office of the Taliban movement in Doha. From Afghanistan participated in the conference adopted the High peace Council, which, as reported by the Afghan Ministry of foreign Affairs, represented the government.
