The authorities of Leningrad region are planning to increase the growth of non-oil exports up to 90% by 2025, said the Governor Alexander Drozdenko.

«Over the next 7 years, by 2025, the rate of non-oil growth is expected to increase to 90%», — said the head of the region.

In the beginning of the year Drozdenko approved the strategy of development of export activities in the region until 2025. Its main purpose is to maintain the existing export potential of the Leningrad region, search of new markets for locally produced products, as well as the creation of conditions for development of non-oil exports and services exports.

In 2018, the first phase of the strategy implementation, the volume of non-oil exports from the Leningrad region is expected to grow by 15%. According to government plans, the number of exporters has doubled in size, the number involved in the export activities of small and medium enterprises by 2025 should increase from 10% to 80%.

Individual areas of development will be the export of transport and tourism services. It is planned to increase the capacity of commercial ports of the region – Ust-Luga, Primorsk, Vyborg and Vysotsk, to develop transport links with other regions of Russia by rail, road and air links.

Leningrad oblast is one of leaders on volumes of export of goods and services. Every year the region sends to foreign markets products totaling not less than $ 5 billion. In export activities in the region employ more than 500 enterprises, the largest exporters are OOO «NOVATEK – Ust-Luga», LLC «Nordman», LLC «PO Kirishinefteorgsintez», LLC «PG Fosforit», JSC «metachem» and others.
