A former adviser to the mayor of Yaroslavl Alexey Lopatin, who was convicted in 2016 together with the head of the high-profile corruption case, on Tuesday was released on the court’s decision on parole, told RIA Novosti lawyer Eugene Syringe.

The former mayor of Yaroslavl Evgeny Urlashov in the summer of 2016 received 12,5 years of a colony of strict regime on loud criminal case about corruption. Along with the mayor were condemned by his assistant Alexey Lopatin — he got seven years in prison, both serving sentences in correctional colony No. 2 in Rybinsk. Another defendant in the case, former Deputy mayor Dmitry Donskov, was acquitted.

In late November, Rybinsk city court ordered parole from serving a sentence of Alexei Lopatin. It was reported that during the years in the colony he «worked, studied, married.»
