The deputies of the National Hural of Buryatia Republic supported the proposal of the head of the Republic Alexei Tzudenova and abolished the position of city Manager the regional capital of Ulan-Ude, said Tuesday the press service of the Parliament.

The bill on amendments to the organization of local self-government was introduced in early November.

«The essence of the bill is that elected by the population of Ulan-Ude, the mayor will head the local administration (the Executive) and will focus on the implementation of administrative and economic functions. It allows to refuse from the position of city Manager. In addition… there will be a clearer delineation of functions of the city Council and the city administration… following the vote, 56 deputies voted «for», — stated in the message.

The meeting noted that in fact we are talking about returning to the model city government, which existed until 2012. The mayor of Ulan-Ude is Alexander Golkov, city Manager Alexander ayusheev. Only the people’s Khural of 66 deputies.
