The first samples of buses amphibians will start in Moscow on the popular tourist route from Zaryadye Park, along the red square, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and other sights of the capital, told RIA Novosti press-service of «Metransparent».

«Already in 2020, Moscow will begin testing the first samples of a new form of urban transport. It is expected that the first bus route-amphibians pass through the center of the city – transportation will depart from Zaryadye Park near to the red square, Lomonosov Moscow state University, Christ the Savior temple and other popular places,» said the Agency in a press-service Tuesday.

As explained in the «Mostrespected», a new kind of urban public transport will be able to overcome part of the route through the city streets, the other on the waters of the Moscow river. The bus is able to not only ride, but also float due to its lower part, which has a bevelled bottom like the boat. The wheel in the «amphibians» may be located not only on the left or right, but center.

«For convenience, the cabin can be equipped with a radio and marine navigation instruments. Such transport is environmentally friendly and safe for the environment, including water bodies», — said the Agency interlocutor.

The press service added that floating buses today are popular in major cities around the world for excursions. Tour buses are amphibious cruise in Amsterdam, Boston and San Francisco USA, Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto in Canada, in Glasgow, Budapest and Rotterdam.

Earlier it was reported that the Moscow authorities in the next three years will provide «Mosgortrans» 425 million rubles for the purchase and maintenance of tour buses are amphibious. Grants for the purchase and maintenance of such buses in the next year could reach 325 million roubles, and then 50 million in the next two years.
