The Governor of the Tver region Igor Rudenya at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin talked about the tourism project «the Volga sea» and invited the President to attend a summer tourist forum in the region.

«We prepared a tentative map. The project «Volga sea» is close to Zavidovo, is the river Shosha, which takes place here, here is the Volga river. We plan, Mr President, the establishment of the river station, which will connect the railway with the Leningrad station in Moscow. Here we have built a large tourist complex,» — said the Governor at a meeting with Putin, a transcript of which is posted on the Kremlin website.

According to him, the authorities want to recreate Stalin’s Empire, «in order to preserve the style and the Moscow river station, and the Tverskoy».

«We want people who will travel by water, could take the train «Swallow», which we now go, from Moscow nonstop to «the Volga sea,» to Zavidovo, it’s roughly 1 hour 40 minutes takes, and thus could continue their journey by water,» — said the head of the region.

He noted that currently the passage for ships through the locks from Moscow to «Volga of the sea» is about nine o’clock, «and so it will be 1 hour and 40 minutes.»

«We have prepared a letter-appeal to You to visit a travel forum, which is held annually in the summer months in Konakovo. If You had the opportunity, we would be very grateful. There are going to the tour operators, the company, our colleagues from Federal ministries, from other regions come to us. So we are very we will wait,» added Rodina.
