The interior Minister of France Christophe Castaner stated that after reviewing the situation sees no need now to declare a state of emergency in the country in connection with the protests.

More than three weeks in France, there are large-scale protests of the movement «yellow jackets», the speakers, in particular, against the increase in gasoline prices. The protests were accompanied by clashes of protesters with the police, pogroms and arsons of cars, destruction of shops, banks. During the protests, four people were killed and hundreds were injured. On Sunday, the official representative of the government of France Benjamin Hryvnia did not rule out the possibility of introducing a state of emergency in France after the recent riots at the rally in Paris on 1 December.

«I am in favour of effective measures. I was asked to analyze the efficiency of the introduction of a special regime of state of emergency next week. At the moment the decision (in this issue – ed.) is not accepted… At this point I don’t think it will be useful to increase the number of troops… I feel that it is not necessary», — said Kastner, answering the questions of French senators at a meeting of the Committee on legislation.
